Speech Pathology

Speech pathologists are health professionals who work in various areas of the hospital to assist people who have communication or swallowing impairments as a result of certain contditions, including:

  • stroke
  • neurological conditions
  • head and neck cancer
  • degenerative diseases
  • ageing
  • paediatric feeding.

Our specialist services include:

  • assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with acquired disorders of swallowing, language, speech and voice and those with tracheostomies
  • individualised therapy and group therapy programs
  • prescription of non-verbal communication aids
  • education programs and for patients and families regarding communication and swallowing.
