The Primary Care Centre is your extended hours health care back up when you have a minor injury or illness and you cannot get an appointment with your regular GP – for example, in the night if your GP does not off er an after-hours service. The Primary Care Centre treats adults and children for less urgent conditions.
Examples of less urgent conditions are:
- fever, coughs, cold
- earache
- toothache
- minor eye issues
- minor cuts, burns, scalds
- infections, rashes
- strains, sprains.
In an emergency
1. Dial Triple Zero (000)
When in doubt, call 000. This is the safest and fastest way to access help in an emergency.
2. Visit an Emergency Department
Important: The Primary Care Centre is not an Emergency Department. The closest Emergency Departments to Wynnum and Manly are:

Health concerns, minor injuries and illnesses are best dealt with by your regular GP, who can give you advice based on knowledge of your health history.
2. Visit the Primary Care Centre
You can visit the Primary Care Centre without an appointment, from 7am - 10.30pm, 7 days a week. The centre treats less urgent conditions, such as those listed to the right.
