Mandatory training for researchers
Research integrity and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training is mandatory for all researchers involved in Metro South Health research.
Each member of a research team, including external researchers, must include valid training certificates as part of the site specific authorisation process. The certificates are valid if you've done accredited training in the last 3 years.
Research integrity training
You can access our online Research integrity training through MSHLearn. All 3 modules must be completed to receive a certificate.
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training
You can access our online GCP training course through MSHLearn.
Face-to-face training is available through external training providers. Our preferred provider is PRAXIS - Introduction to GCP and refresher GCP training.
External researchers
External researchers who are not MSH employees can provide evidence, such as a certificate or training transcript from your employing Hospital and Health Service, university or institution or external provider.
External researchers who wish to complete our modules can email MSH-Research@health.qld.gov.au. Further information and links can be provided.
Research education webinars 2024
We host our research education webinars on Microsoft Teams. All webinars, except MSH Biostatistics Service courses, are available to everyone.
Biostatistics and research software training
We help researchers with data analysis and statistical methods and provide training in biostatistics. We also have licenses available for SPSS Statistics software.
Biostatistics and SPSS training is delivered by the Metro South Biostatistics Service and is for Metro South Health employees only.
While some sessions are held using Teams, some are in person at the PACE Building (PA Campus). You need delegate approval to go to these training sessions.

Research Capability and Excellence Framework
The Research Capability and Excellence Framework [PDF 367.67 KB] is designed to enhance research education and development in Metro South Health.
