About the Metro South Health Research Support Scheme (MSH RSS)
The MSH RSS is an annual research grants program that helps to fund health and medical research projects in our hospital and health service. It supports high quality research that aims to improve health in Queensland's communities.
The 2025 MSH RSS round offers over $2.5 million in health and medical research grants.

Who can apply for funding?
We publish funding guidelines each year with information about who can apply for each category, but you must be employed by Metro South Health.
How to apply
The 2025 MSH RSS is closed, but you can refer to the 2025 MSH RSS funding guidelines [PDF 548.22 KB] to help you prepare an application for the 2026 funding round.
To apply for a grant you must:
- review the funding guidelines, including eligibility and assessment criteria
- review the MSH RSS work instruction [PDF 276.77 KB]
- fill in the application form on the SmartyGrants website
