Your funding agreement
If your external grant application is successful you'll be asked to sign a funding agreement by the funding body. The funding agreement includes terms and conditions for accepting the grant and lists the due dates for progress reports and financial reports.

Who administers the grant?
Your department business team administers the grant. This includes setting up a cost centre for your research project, making payments from the grant and completing the financial reports required by the funding body.
You should have a meeting with your business team soon after securing your grant so they can help you manage the grant efficiently.
Research ethics approval and research governance authorisation
You'll need to have ethics approval and research governance authorisation before you start your grant-funded research project.
