Redland Hospital’s newest 28-bed ward is set to open soon, enabling more people to receive first class care closer to home.
The $25 million modular ward was built offsite and craned into place at the back of the main hospital earlier this year and once open will increase medical bed capacity for the hospital by 57 per cent.
The ward will consist of one and two bed suites, an isolation room and a bariatric room, along with reception, multiple office area, meeting rooms and extra facilities for patients and staff.
Lagoon Ward will help to support efficient patient flow through the hospital, allowing improved access to acute inpatient beds for our patients.
A multidisciplinary team will work to provide high quality, safe and culturally appropriate care.
