The Redland Hospital Birthing Unit expansion, part of a $1.73 million investment by the Queensland Government, opened in March 2020.
The expansion included a new birth suite, the refurbishment of two existing birth suites, and a refurbished Maternity Assessment Unit, as well as the introduction of water birthing with three new birthing pools.
In January 2020, the Redland Hospital Emergency Department was expanded by an additional four short stay beds as part of a $1.73 million investment by the Queensland Government.
