PAH Publication of the Year (Previously Published Author) 2022

Aim

The aim of this award is to recognise an outstanding publication by a PAH Nurse that has contributed to nursing knowledge through publication in a journal.

Eligibility

• Author/s must be a registered nurse, enrolled nurse or assistant in nursing working within any unit or team outlined within the PAH Organisational Structure (PDF, 668.66 KB)
• Principal author has been previously published in an academic peer-reviewed journal.
• Publication must have been printed in a journal from 2020 or 2021.

Nomination process

Authors wishing to be considered are required to complete the demographic details and submit a Word or PDF version (under 4MB) of your publication using the online nomination form below. The Nurse Practice Development Unit (NPDU) will be accountable to obtain nominations.

Timelines

• Submissions open: Wednesday, 2 February 2022
• Submissions close: Friday, 8 April 2022 (there will be no extensions)

Decision making governance process

A panel consisting of the Nursing Director Education; interprofessional colleague; Nursing Director Research; and Clinical Nurse Consultant Evidence Based Practice will review and judge each publication. A set of criteria will be used to determine the quality of article and assist the panel to rank in order of quality. The following criteria are used by the panel to rank each publication:

• Relevance to nursing
• Robustness of methodology
• Potential contribution to evidence-based patient care

The recommended Publication / Author/s will be endorsed by Nursing Director/Assistant Director of Nursing (ND/ADON) Committee Meeting.

Please note: Where the successful publication contains multiple nurses from PAH eligible for the prize, the education bursary will be shared equally amongst the recipients.

Reward and recognition

• $1,000 Education Bursary funded by NPDU.
• A Magnet Nursing Excellence Badge and Certificate of Recognition will be presented on International Nurses Day.
• Photo and award details included within the PAH Nursing Services Annual Review.
