Paediatrics

at Redland Hospital

Paediatrics is a branch of medicine dedicated to the treatment and specialised care of infants, children and adolescents.

Redland Hospital’s Paediatric Service operates a children’s ward providing inpatient medical care, a level-2 Special Care Nursery and an outpatient department.

The outpatient clinic provides:

  • general paediatric services
  • newborn/neonatal follow up
  • paediatric respiratory
  • developmental/learning difficulties
  • private practice.

In September 2012 Redland Hospital completed a $13.6million expansion of its emergency department and paediatric service, including the creation of a dedicated paediatric emergency waiting and treatment area, an expanded and refurbished paediatric ward, and a new paediatric ambulatory services wing as part of the Redland Health Service Centre.
