Making an appointment

To make an appointment, please phone the Metro South Oral Health Hub—a call centre for urgent and general public dental treatment for eligible children, adolescents and adults in the Metro South region:

1300 300 850 Cost of a local call. Calls from mobile phones may be charged at a higher rate. Please check with your telephone service provider.

Our friendly staff will help you make an appointment at a time and location convenient to you. You can choose from a number of oral health clinics throughout the region.

Opening hours

The Metro South Oral Health Hub is open Monday to Friday between the following hours:

  • Monday 7.30 am - 4.00 pm
  • Tuesday 7.30 am - 4.00 pm
  • Wednesday 7.30 am - 4.00 pm
  • Thursday 7.30 am - 3.00 pm
  • Friday 7.30 am - 4.00 pm

The Metro South Oral Health Hub experiences a high volume of calls on a Monday and early mornings. To avoid waiting, we encourage you to call at other times.

After hours

If you require emergency treatment after hours, contact the emergency department at your local hospital or your private dentist.

What to bring

You should bring to all appointments:

  • your current concession cards
  • photo identification
  • details of any medication you are taking.

Attending appointments with your child

Good dental health begins at home. To fit in with busy families, we offer free treatment at any of Metro South Health's public oral health clinics across the region.

A parent or legal guardian is required to attend every dental appointment with their children.
