Respiratory team set for growth

8 November 2018

A new and improved space for Logan Hospital’s respiratory team could see staff treat almost double the number of patients already utilising respiratory services.

Respiratory Physician Dr Khoa Tran said a recent move from the Clinical Measurements space had already received wonderful feedback from patients.

“In the old space we had one room that combined testing with an office,” Dr Tran said.

“Now we have dedicated office space and two testing rooms and pending a Business Case for more scientific staff, we will be able to provide services for nearly double the number of patients we see now.”

Respiratory Scientist Penny Jell said repeat patients using the new area had responded positively and were “excited” about the space now available to them.

She said with almost 3000 patients already using respiratory services every year, the prospect of expanding and being able to provide even more patients with complex lung function tests was wonderful.
