Ping pong a welcome distraction in our CIU

19 October 2021

Look what's arrived in our Children's Ward! And look who is already getting in on the action with some of our little patients.

Director of Paediatrics Dr Jan Cullen and CIU NUM Darren Hassen said the ward's new ping pong table was proving a real hit with the kids, their families - and the staff.

"We are very grateful to the Department of Education who gifted us the table," Darren said.

"It's such a great distraction for the kids who can play together or with their family members during their stay in hospital."

"Kids have been able to enjoy a match while they recover, like nine-year-old Sam who is recovering from an appendix procedure. There will be plenty of other patients who will get loads of fun out of this."
