New End of Trip facilities giving staff a healthy, car free travel alternative

27 May 2022

Logan Hospital's new car park is proving a real hit for staff now choosing to cycle to work and make use of the End of Trip facilities.

While the eight levels of car parking provide ample space for safe, undercover parking, MRI Team Leader Des Hardman said the new facilities provided a great reason to get healthy and ride to work rather than drive.

He said the facilities were fantastic for staff who preferred to get to and from work on their bike or scooter.

"I love the staff swipe access, that it's free to use, that there is safe, undercover bike storage and that there are tools here for puncture repair or other issues.

"I can see myself using it regularly," he said.

Nurse Navigator Lorraine Treanor said she was enjoying using the ladies locker room facilities for pre and post gym visits before and after work.

"It's great to be able to have a shower and get changed in a safe, clean and modern space," she said.

The End of Trip facilities feature bicycle and scooter parking, showers, toilets, lockers and change rooms.

It is hoped the facilities, designed to support sustainable transport options, will encourage more staff to incorporate a healthy and active lifestyle into their work day.
