Magnificent Midwives celebrated

21 May 2024

With LBHS home to two of Metro South's three birthing hospitals, International Day of the Midwife is always a significant event.
Logan 2024 celebrations kicked off with a visit from Deputy Premier Cameron Dick, Minister Mick de Brenni, Melissa McMahon MP and Linus Power MP.
Staff then came together to hear Caragh Myers crowned Logan's Midwife of the year and the Maternity Inpatient Unit announced as Midwifery Team of the Year.
Our Beaudesert midwives celebrated alongside their nursing colleagues for a joint International Day of the Midwife and International Nurses Day morning tea.
Yana Adams took out the title of Beaudesert Midwife of the Year. Yana's nomination praised her for her dedication to improving patient outcomes and recognised her as an extremely passionate midwife providing exceptional to care to her community.
Both winners of Midwife of the Year couldn't make it to the awards ceremony, but we look forward to sharing their inspiring midwifery journeys with you in the next edition of The Pulse.
Check out Logan's highlights video.
