Logan Hospital intern profile: Kristen Wadwell

7 February 2018

She’s a former professional so ball player turned weight lifter who began studying vet science.

Now Kristen Wadwell has started work as one of 40 new doctors beginning their careers at Logan Hospital last week.

Dr Wadwell said she was looking forward to an interesting and challenging intern year at Logan Hospital.

“Medicine is very engaging and I enjoy it,” she said.

“I was a professional athlete and started in vet science and changed to med.

“I suppose one of the biggest differences is that animals are far less able to tell you where it hurts.”

Dr Wadwell said while she was interested in emergency medicine she looked forward to being an “all rounder”.
