Kids called on to name Redland Hospital car park crane

8 October 2021

The Redland Hospital car park crane has arrived and we want our local school kids to help us name it!

The arrival of the crane signals an exciting milestone for the $50.5 million project which will deliver more than 1000 car parks over seven levels for patients, visitors and staff.

And, at 37-metres, it’s only fitting for it to be named.

Bayside Health Service A/Executive Director Anne Coccetti said the call had gone out to primary school-aged children and local schools to ‘name the crane’ by submitting their creative ideas, with the winning name to be displayed on the crane for the duration of the project.

Redlands Coast residents and schools are encouraged to submit their ideas on the Metro South Health website by 24 October 2021.

The entries will be shortlisted by the project team with the five best names put to the community to decide on the winner.

Name the crane!
