Gastroenterology Referral Guidelines Updated on Refer Your Patient

10 July 2019

The statewide referral guidelines for Gastroenterology conditions have recently undergone a clinical review through a statewide Clinical Advisory Group.

In addition to GP and specialist feedback this process involved a review of evidence-based guidelines to ensure the referral guidelines and essential referral information remain clinically relevant and evidence-based. The Gastroenterology page on Refer Your Patient also received a revamp to improve function and usability for our users including a reformat of the Direct Access Endoscopy pages.

These updated guidelines have now been published on the Metro South Health Refer Your Patient website Gastroenterology page. For assistance with these guidelines or feedback on the new page look, please contact the GP Liaison team on 1300 36 155 - Option 2 or email GPLO_Programs2@health.qld.gov.au
