Education partnership in new renal sims training

18 September 2019

Logan Hospital’s renal education team have partnered up with the simulation education team to deliver a high-fidelity simulation program.

Renal educators Brendan Zornig and Andrette Joseph said Logan Hospital was one of only a few renal units across the state to implement a program of this kind.

“The simulations provide staff exposure to realistic clinical scenarios that are specific to the renal setting,” Brendan said.

“This enables staff to practice and gain confidence in a safe learning environment so that they are well-equipped to manage similar scenarios in the real clinical setting.”

He said the simulation education team had played a crucial role in delivering the program which had been met with enthusiasm and many positive reviews from staff.
