Expansion stage 1

Construction is now underway on the stage 1 expansion of Logan Hospital. This expansion will enhance our clinical services and improve facilities for patients, visitors and staff.

What we're building

The $460 million project includes:

  • an additional 206 beds and treatment spaces
  • a vertical expansion of Building 3 (emergency department building), delivering four new floors
  • building-in of the ground floor of Building 3
  • refurbishment of clinical, clinical support and operational service support areas in the other existing hospital buildings.

The expansion will enable us to provide a range of new and expanded healthcare services for the Logan community in one of fastest growing regions in the state.

Benefits

The expansion project will increase the capacity of the hospital in line with the Logan region's rapid population growth.

It will increase healthcare services available in Logan, which means the local community can be treated nearer to their home.

The new and refurbished facilities will be designed to provide a contemporary, comfortable environment for our patients and visitors and the new inpatient wards will consist of both single and double rooms with ensuites.
