While close to Loganlea train station and serviced by a number of bus routes, private motor vehicles are a key form of transport to the hospital for staff, patients, and visitors.
Currently the hospital provides access to more than 1,000 onsite car parking spaces for patients and visitors, with offsite staff parking connected to the hospital by a shuttle bus. A new, at-grade staff carpark is being constructed on the TAFE site beside the hospital as an interim solution providing more convenient and safer staff access to the hospital.
A new multi-storey car park is now proposed as the long term parking solution for staff, patients and visitors, to cater for the growing demand on hospital services and the expansion of hospital buildings. The multi-storey cap park is planned for the south west corner of the hospital site, at the juncture of Loganlea and Armstrong Roads. It will include end-of-trip facilities (lockers, showers, change rooms) and an undercover walkway to the hospital buildings.
The Logan Hospital Multi-Storey Car Park Project is part of the Logan Hospital Infrastructure Program.
The Multi-Storey Car Park Project is in the Concept Planning Phase, which is when the specific areas in need of improvement are identified and the actions required to do this also determined. For the car park this involves broad scoping of size, number of spaces and location.
More detailed project information, including detailed design drawings and inclusions will be available at future stages and this information is developed.
