Our recruitment process is all about making sure you're the right fit for us—and that we're the right fit for you!
We use a values-based recruitment process. This means that when we recruit to a vacant position, selection panels assess applicants value alignment to our ICARE² values at all stages of the recruitment process.
We advertise all roles on our website and on the Queensland Government's SmartJobs and Careers platform. Each role will include detailed information on how to apply.
For most advertised roles, we follow these steps:
We receive many applications for each advertised position, and we review each one thoroughly. So please be patient with us during the recruitment process—we will always contact you to let you know the outcome.
All applications are reviewed by a panel made up of staff who have appropriate skills and experience to make an informed decision about the position.
The panel will review your application shortly after the vacancy closing date and will decide on a short list of candidates.
We will usually contact you within one to two weeks to inform you if you have been shortlisted and to invite you to take part in the next stage of the process. At this time we will schedule an interview and/or provide further information about an assessment activity.
Please be aware that if your application has not progressed to the next stage you will be notified by email. You will also be offered a chance to obtain feedback regarding your application at the end of the recruitment process.
Once the interviews or assessments are conducted, the panel decides on a preferred candidate.
You may be asked to provide documents and references for our pre-employment checking requirements. This process can take a further one to two weeks after your interview.
Once the pre-employment requirements are completed and you have been approved as the successful candidate for the position, we will offer you the position.
