The PAH is a tertiary referral and teaching hospital, providing comprehensive services to South East Queensland. The PAH is a 1,054-bed hospital located 4kms from the CBD in Woolloongabba. It provides a full range of adult specialty services (excluding O&G). Innovation is part of our DNA and in November 2015, the PAH became Australia’s first large-scale digital hospital.
As a major trauma centre, there is a retrieval service with a helipad located on the roof of the hospital building that incorporates a high-speed lift which travels directly into a resus room. The PAH is the major centre for liver and kidney transplantation and is also home to state-wide services such as the melanoma and sarcoma service.
It is nationally recognised for its expertise in digital health and telehealth. There are strong links with the co-located research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI), as well as collaborations with The University of Queensland and Queensland University of Technology. The PAH is a popular choice and is usually over-subscribed in the Queensland Health intern and RMO recruitment campaigns.
The PAH is a fantastic place to train, whether your interests lie in medical, surgical or critical care specialities.
