Surgical

Graduates who come to the surgical wards will hit the ground running on day one and have the chance to experience what it’s like working as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.

On a surgical ward you will gain skills in pre- and post-operative care of patients undergoing a range of procedures to manage diseases, complex conditions or requiring emergency surgery or transplants.

Graduate nurses will be working alongside doctors, physios, social workers, pharmacists and many other professionals to evaluate and plan care for their patient.

Our graduates are important members of our team and are supported by preceptors and nurse educators to help them feel empowered in their practice and give them a solid foundation to begin their careers.

If you want to join our team to begin your journey to becoming a confident and skilled registered nurse, preference a surgical graduate program at Metro South Health.
