Health alert: COVID-19

COVID-19 Alert: We are currently at GREEN traffic light level - there is no restriction for coming to hospital to receive healthcare. Visitors are currently welcome at Metro South Health facilities, and are asked to help keep patients safe by maintaining physical distancing where possible and practising hand hygiene. See visitor restrictions and the latest Queensland Government information. Graduates in a perioperative program can be prepare for each day to be interesting with new experiences daily in supporting patients in their most vulnerable times.

With the support of senior perioperative nurses and preceptors, graduates will increase their scope each day on their way to becoming independent practitioners.

We value our graduates because they bring enthusiasm and innovation to our teams. Our previous graduates have been responsible for positive change in our hospitals, including initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint and improvements for support for mothers in the Caesarean birthing process.

We will support your learning to ensure you are able to deliver safe, quality, patient-centred care to assist a patient through the perioperative journey.
