Mental Health

Mental health is a specialised field of nursing which focuses on working with consumers to meet their recovery goals.

Mental health graduate nurses meet the challenge of forming strong therapeutic relationships with people who have mental illnesses, and often with their families as well.

As a graduate working in mental health, you will learn to consider the person's physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs, within the context of the individual's lived experience and in partnership with their family, significant others and the broader community.

Our former graduates have become great sources of information for new graduates coming into the unit and provide great peer support.

Graduates are guided and challenged to critically examine their practice to ensure a consumer-led recovery focus and evidence-based practice.

If you want to join our team to begin your journey to becoming a confident and skilled registered nurse, preference a mental health graduate program at Metro South Health.
