‘Patient information’ refers to written material in paper or digital formats that is provided to consumers. It is intended to educate the person on their condition, the treatment being provided, or more general healthy behaviours.
There are currently more than 1000 patient information resources that have been produced by Metro South Health staff. Many of these have been developed by expert clinicians and are a valuable resource for consumers, families and carers. However, there has never been a consistent approach for developing, reviewing, publishing and cataloguing patient information across the health service.
Metro South Health invested in a new digital platform for managing and displaying patient information resources.
Features of the platform include:
Single, easy-to-use digital library of patient resources; reduction in duplicate, obsolete or out-of-date content; Easily record and report on consumer feedback accreditation requirement.
