Delivering Choosing Wisely Across MSHHS

Metro South Health is launching a large-scale engagement project involving consumers, clinicians and GP's to implement the Choosing Wisely principles and recommendations across the health service.  Choosing Wisely is an international initiative to improve patient care by reducing and eliminating unnecessary, potentially harmful tests, treatments and procedures performed and prescribed.

Facing up to Chronic Disease - Diabetes

Following extensive stakeholder and community engagement, the Metro South Health (MSH) Board and Brisbane South PHN Board have endorsed the implementation of the Facing up to Chronic Disease program. The strategy is a long-term plan to connect care and improve the health and wellness of the MSH population who are living with chronic disease, and reduce the social, human and economic impact of this.

Secure Document Transfer Project

The Secure Document Transfer Project will analyse and provide recommendations for the secure and efficient transmission of external referral information where this relates to:

  1. Addiction and Mental Health Services
  2. Specialist outpatient departments
  3. Nurse Navigator roles.

Project funding is being provided by the MSH Executive Planning and Innovation Committee.
