Choosing Wisely

What is Choosing Wisely?

Choosing Wisely Australia® is a clinician-led initiative that aims to reduce unnecessary healthcare by limiting patient exposure to tests, treatments and procedures where evidence shows they have little benefit, or may cause harm.

Led by Australia’s medical colleges, societies and associations and facilitated by NPS MedicineWise, Choosing Wisely Australia challenges the way we think about healthcare, questioning the notion 'more is always better'.
