Working in partnership with the community can improve and enhance the services Logan Hospital provides and positively influence the patient and carer experience. Volunteering at the Logan Hospital provides the opportunity to support both the hospital and the community in continuing Logan Hospital's journey to excellence in person centred care, and to provide much needed support while the hospital is undergoing capital works.
Some of the benefits of volunteering at Logan and Beaudesert Health Service include:
The Volunteer Service provides support to the hospital’s existing services and consists of the following valuable programs:
The Ecumenical Ward Chaplaincy Service provides care for the emotional and spiritual needs of patients, their families and friends, and staff. Chaplains provide a willing ear and their approach is one offered in friendship and with a non-judgemental attitude.
Chaplains are volunteers trained as pastoral care providers who offer their services free of charge. Chaplains are available and in the hospital from Monday to Friday.
Radio Lollipop is an international children’s charity and provides care, comfort, play and entertainment to sick children and their families in hospital. It operates an in-house radio station and involves the children in fun play activities throughout the wards.
Radio Lollipop works in the Children’s Ward, Tuesdays from 5pm-8pm.
To be eligible all volunteer roles have standard requirements. These requirements will be communicated to you when you register your interest.
