Volunteering at Bayside Health Services

The Redland Hospital Network Volunteer Services Programs includes: Redland Hospital, Gundu-Pa, Marie Rose Centre (Dunwich) Casuarina Lodge (Wynnum) and Bayside Community Care Unit-Metro South Addiction and Mental Health Services.

Volunteer roles


The Redland Hospital Auxiliary Incorporated runs the Koala Kiosk which is open 7 days a week, 363 days a year with 2 shifts of volunteers each day.

Weekends are usually done in one shift. The Auxiliary fund raises a significant amount of money each year to provide the Redland Hospital with a range of hospital equipment and items for patient comfort.

  • Provide opportunities to meet and make new friends of various ages, skills and abilities.
  • Support and help people in the local community.
  • Work to provide comfort and the well being of patients.
  • Assist staff with designated tasks.
  • Meet and Greet patients, families, staff and students.
  • Opportunities to be involved in Consumer Governance across the Redland and Wynnum Health Service District.
  • Volunteers are provided Insurance, identification badges and vests/pinafores and meal vouchers after a four-hour shift.
