General Medicine involves the assessment and management of patients with complex or undifferentiated medical problems. Our specialist doctors often work with one or more sub-specialty teams to diagnose and manage medical problems.

Redland Hospital provides general medical and cardiology care for inpatients with acute medical conditions as well as specialist consultation services and palliative care services.

Specialist medical services are provided in the areas of:

  • general and acute medicine
  • cardiology including clinical measurements
  • palliative care
  • infectious diseases
  • gastroenterology
  • geriatrics and rehabilitation
  • renal
  • respiratory
  • endocrinology and diabetes
  • clinical pharmacology.

Redland Hospital has 30 acute general medical beds, 13 acute cardiology/general medicine beds, five high dependency unit beds and 12 dialysis chairs.
