Evolve Therapeutic Services is part of Evolve Interagency Services (Evolve). Evolve provides therapeutic and behaviour support services for children and young people on child protection orders and in out-of-home care who have psychological and behavioural problems.
The services are provided through a collaborative partnership between the Department of Communities, Queensland Health and the Department of Education and Training.
The service delivers a coordinated support to children and young people and their support network to improve their emotional wellbeing and develop and enhance skills to participate in school and the community.
Evolve Therapeutic Services delivers a range of interventions including:
- comprehensive assessments and treatment plans based on the bio-psycho-social and cultural needs of the child or young person and their support network
- medium to long-term therapy to facilitate a child or young person's ability to form secure attachments
- psycho-education to the child or young person's carers and associated support network regarding the effects of trauma and abuse.
