Dietitians are highly skilled health professionals who apply the art and science of human nutrition to help people understand the relationship between food and health.

Our dietitians and nutritionists work with other health professionals in hospital to:

  • provide individual advice on nutrition related to patients' conditions or treatments
  • manage nutrition therapies including prescribing modified and special diets or nutritional supplements
  • educate and counsel patients on their specific dietary requirements, while in hospital and in preparation for home.

Most of our dietitians only provide care for people who are admitted to our hospitals.
