Home and community based care

Our aim is to help people live independently and stay out of hospital.

Many of our patients have been in hospital and extra support to transition back home. We also have specialist services for people with chronic disease, dementia and people needing long term antibiotics. And our midwives support women during pregnancy to give their children the best start in life.

Mental health and addictions

We provide mental health care for adults and young people to help with their recovery. This includes programs for some of our most vulnerable patients such as people experiencing homelessness, older adults, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We also care for people who are struggling with alcohol or other drugs and support their families and carers.

Dental health

We have the largest public dental service in Queensland and offer general and major dental and orthodontics in community centres and schools.

We’re also a major provider for dental health students doing a clinical placement.

Public health

Our public health unit monitors the overall health of our community. We respond to public health emergencies like floods and disease outbreaks and make sure things like our water and food are safe. We also support healthy lifestyles like vaccinations and looking after your physical and mental health.

We're looking for epidemiologists, medical entomologists and public health nurses.
