BreastScreen Queensland provides quality breast cancer screening services for women in our region. We are the only nationally accredited breast cancer screening provider in Metro South Health offering free screening and assessment, to eligible women, using the latest digital mammography technology.
The aim of the BreastScreen Queensland program is to reduce the impact of a breast cancer diagnosis and ensure you have the best outcome possible through early detection. We provide a complete service, up to and including a breast cancer diagnosis or referral for open biopsy. Our goal is to screen 70 per cent of Queensland women in our target age group 50 to 74 every two years, as they are the group most at risk of breast cancer.
Our screening program is specifically designed to target women 50 to 74 years as this is the age group most at risk of developing breast cancer. However, our program also accepts women in their 40s or 75 years and over.
