Abstract submission for Bold ideas, better solutions 2017 have now closed—12pm, 7 August 2017.

Academics, clinicians, consumers/service users and industry partners are invited to submit an abstract for the Bold ideas, better solutions 2017 program.


There are four categories available for submission:

  • Academic
  • Clinician
  • Consumer/service user
  • Industry partner

Presentation types

The stimulating program for this day-long conference will comprise of international keynote speakers, oral and poster presentations, lightning talks and a panel discussion.


All abstracts submitted will be considered for an oral presentation. Oral presentations will include 15-minute short paper presentations (12-minute presentation, 3-minutes questions) or 5-minute lightning talks (4-minute presentation, 1-minute questions).


Abstracts not selected for an oral presentation may be eligible to display an ePoster.

What is a lightning talk?

A lightning talk is a very short presentation lasting only a few minutes.  Lightning talks are an entertaining and alternative method of sharing information. The goal of the lightning talk is to articulate the topic in an efficient, insightful and clear manner.

Oral lightning talks are strictly limited to 12 slides, 20 seconds each slide—total of 4 minutes presentation time.

Abstract submission guidelines

Abstracts were to be 200 words with no bullet points. A plain language 100-word synopsis must also be submitted.
