MEDIA ART CATEGORY – Super Short Film
Media Art Competition (Open to primary and secondary schools).
Students will create a 15 to 100 seconds short video/film or a PowerPoint presentation recording that promotes mental health or explores mental illness and addiction issues (the intent is that students would use everyday tools instead of non-professional equipment such as their phones or portable devices to create the product). The productions can be uploaded on a Festival specific YouTube Channel where the judging occurs by a panel of judges and/or via the general public (ie. People’s Choice).
Media Art Categories will include:
Primary School Entry
Secondary School Entry
There are two themes and sub-categories:
Open (Mental Wellbeing, Mental Illness and Addiction Issues)
This is a very open category that allows entrants to let their imaginations run wild. As long as the themes portrayed are about the promotion of mental wellbeing or reducing the stigma of mental illness and addiction issues in young people.
Screen and Gaming Addiction
This is to specifically address the issue of excessive gaming or ‘screen-time’, and addiction to the video game, social media and anything to do with screens (e.g. Television, Computer, smart phones, portable devices).
Due Date for Media Art Category entries is the 8th September, Friday.
