The JRNA was developed in partnership by Metro South Health (MSH) and Brisbane South Primary Health Network (Brisbane South PHN). The JRNA ensures our planning and services meet the needs of our community.
The JRNA identified needs based on:
- insights from community members and healthcare staff
- analysis of health trends, service use and risk factors
- review of existing plans and broader health system goals.
These needs were then prioritised according to what matters most to the Brisbane South community.
Our health priorities
In 2025-27, the health priorities for the Metro South region include:
- health equity for priority population groups
- mental health
- prevention and management of chronic disease
- domestic and family violence
- wait times and capacity of health services to meet growing demand
- access to bulk-billing GP services.
For the full list of 24 priorities, read our Brisbane South Joint Regional Needs Assessment 2025-2027 report [PDF 1681.29 KB] or the two-page summary [PDF 151.05 KB] to learn more.
