In a major milestone for the Logan Hospital Expansion, the first three areas in the Building 3 tower have officially opened.

The new Education Centre, Medical Common Room and Internal Medicine offices moved in this week as part of the tower’s phased opening. They will be followed by inpatient units and clinical departments in February and March.

The Education Centre on Level 7 is the new, co-located home for the Nursing and Midwifery Practice Development Unit, Medical Education Unit, Simulation Centre and the Logan Hospital Library. It features a contemporary learning environment for staff of all disciplines, as well as state-of-the-art simulation rooms designed to provide an immersive training experience.

The Medical Common Room on Level 6 replaces the existing facility in Building 3, which will soon be refurbished to become part of Mental Health. The Internal Medicine Service Line’s new offices are also located on Level 6.
