Medical Intern Georgia Richardson is among 13 new interns who began work at Redland Hospital this month.
“I am excited to join the team at Redland Hospital and start my prevocational training here,” Dr Richardson said.
“I am looking forward to a generalist training program that will be offered.”
Executive Director Greg Nolan said Redland Hospital was proud to be a leader in medical education that provided a supportive learning environment.
He said of the thirteen interns, five would work across various departments at Redland Hospital over the next one to two years, with two of these completing their rural generalist training.
Mr Nolan said the remainder of the interns would complete three months at Redland Hospital before continuing their training at other Metro South hospitals.
“We’ve welcomed five interns who will be based at Redland Hospital and rotate through specialties including anaesthetics, obstetrics and gynaecology as well as paediatrics, general surgery and mental health,” he said.
“Redland City is a naturally wonderful place to live and work.
“We hope to encourage our interns to choose Redland Hospital as the location for their future career.”
