QEII ushers in new era of healthcare excellence, as the hospital welcomes 18 junior doctors this month. 2024 has started strong with an ever-growing medical cohort with a strong preference for what’s on offer at QEII.

QEII Hospital’s Medical Education Officer, Jason Abraham, said the addition of these junior doctors is a reflection on QEIIs position as a hub for emerging medical talent.

"We are delighted to have these talented junior doctors join our ranks. Their fresh perspectives and energy will undoubtedly contribute to the innovative and patient-centric approach we strive for at QEII."

“This year we are pleased to see that many of the doctors’ first hospital of choice was QEII for their training. It’s a testament to the support and training that we have which is only made possible by the teamwork and comradery here at QEII.”

The recruitment of these junior doctors comes at a crucial juncture, responding to the evolving healthcare needs of the community and the expansion of services at QEII.

As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, this infusion of fresh talent is essential to meet the ever-growing demands for quality patient care.

The 18 junior doctors are currently undergoing comprehensive orientation programs to familiarise themselves with QEII's facilities and protocols. Their rotations will see them spend time across the core units in General Surgery, General Medicine, and Emergency Care with electives in specialised units in Orthopaedics, Urology or Gynaecology.
