A new initiative is underway at PA Hospital called Bed Egress Coordinator (BEC) which is aimed at improving patient flow, to benefit both patients and the hospital.

“The BEC nursing team is a group of experienced, senior nurses from all divisions who look for the most efficient use of beds,” said A/ADON Christine Inglis-Simons.

“They assist clinicians to get the right patient in the most suitable bed, help with paperwork, and ensure any referrals or transfers to other hospitals go smoothly and quickly.

“Through this practical and collaborative work, we’re aiming to discharge at least four additional patients per day.”

Great work team, your exceptional efforts don't go unnoticed.
