Caring for others is second nature to Nina Simpson and the Bayside community is now set to benefit from this passion.
The experienced cancer care nurse has become one of the Redlands Satellite Hospital (RSH) team, taking on the role of Clinical Nurse Consultant at the Cancer Day Therapy Unit (CDTU).
With more than a decade of experience in cancer care, Nina said she looked forward to delivering cancer therapies and supportive treatments for local patients.
“The Redlands Satellite Hospital is only the second Metro South Health facility to offer public cancer treatment - so to be able to offer treatment closer to home is a great step forward,” she said.
Nina believes eligible community members who access the CDTU will benefit from lower travel times, reduced wait times for treatment and a beautiful new environment to receive care in.
Nina said her favourite part of the job was working with the patients and their families/care givers to provide care that encompasses all their goals and focuses on quality of life.
