Assistant Director of Medical Imaging Michael Neep

For the past 24 years, Michael Neep's career in radiography has been driven by his passion for helping people.

The Assistant Director of Medical Imaging who has worked at Logan Hospital for the past decade said this core focus continued to drive and inspire his work today.

Michael received an Engagement value award for the key role he played in helping Beaudesert Hospital recently.

His nomination outlined the tireless work carried out over an entire weekend, saying his focus never wavered from patient safety.

The nomination highlighted ‘Mike’ as kind, patient and considerate in all his actions and interactions, and labelled him a role model of exemplar engagement across Metro South Health campuses.

Michael modestly downplayed the praise for actions he considered part of his role, although admitted it was nice to be nominated and acknowledged nonetheless.

“Engagement happens every day,” Michael said, describing how he demonstrated the value. “Broadly, I like to engage with patients and staff as I pass by them in Hospital Street.

“Interdepartmentally, I engage with colleagues about work and personal matters. Externally, I engage with other health professionals to maintain a quality network which is vital in the challenging times healthcare is currently facing.”

Michael said his day-to-day role was one of support, with supporting and developing his team his favourite part of his job.

He said along with supporting the medical imaging team to operate a safe and efficient service, he also supported their development and practices to ensure they delivered the best possible care for their patients.

Well done Michael and thank you for embracing the value of engagement.
