Metro South Health's satellite hospitals now have a new name - satellite health centres.

The new name is based on feedback from frontline clinicians and primary care providers in a move to better reflect the services they deliver.

Our satellite hospitals will now be known as:

Both centres will continue to deliver the same trusted services, and will have the same opening hours.

The Eight Mile Plains and Redlands satellite health centres each have a minor injury and illness clinic, which provides urgent walk-in care for conditions such as:

  • fever, cough and cold
  • rash and infection
  • earache, toothache and eye problems
  • broken bones and fractures
  • minor cuts, wounds and burns
  • minor head injuries.

It’s free to get urgent care for a minor illness or injury if you have a Medicare card. You don't need an appointment. We only treat babies older than 3 months.

In a life-threatening emergency, call Triple Zero (000) or go to your nearest emergency department.

The centres also offer the following services which can be accessed through a GP referral:

  • kidney dialysis
  • cancer day therapy
  • specialist outpatient services.
