The Queensland Transcultural Mental Health Centre (QTMHC) has taken out a top prize in the 2024 Mental Health Week Achievement Awards.
The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Award was presented during Mental Health Week, putting a statewide spotlight on the team’s dedication and compassion.
QTMHC Manager Asmir Kospic said it’s an honour and a privilege for the team to receive the award.
“We are deeply grateful for the recognition. This acknowledgment reassures us that our work is valuable and fuels our passion to continue making a difference,” he said.
“I believe a key to our success is the commitment shared by all our staff towards ensuring CALD consumers receive culturally responsive mental health care and support throughout Queensland.”
QTMHC is a specialist statewide service operated by Metro South Health that works to ensure people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds receive culturally responsive mental health care and support.
“All the credit for this achievement belongs to our staff,” said Asmir. “They are enthusiastic every day to work at the Centre, and this is a testament to their unwavering dedication, enthusiasm, and the pride they take in their meaningful work.
“We are grateful to receive this award as a mark of progress for our Centre. Our goal is to continue driving our vision towards excellence in all domains, ensuring that all people from CALD backgrounds have timely access to high-quality and culturally responsive services and programs.”
Congratulations to everyone at QTMHC for this incredible recognition!
