Medical officers from all corners of the country gathered in Canberra for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) annual Congress from 19 – 23 May.

The major scientific conference was a place for psychiatrists to come together, share knowledge, and discuss new research.

It was also a wonderful opportunity for Metro South Health staff to showcase the exciting career opportunities in Addiction and Mental Health Services (AMHS).

Business Coordinator Sue Edelman said she and the team were all incredible proud to promote everything AMHS has to offer.

“We embraced the chance to meet with attendees and tell them about our lovely lifestyle, training opportunities, and beautiful climate which proved especially appealing to those who walked across the frost each morning in chilly Canberra,” said Sue.

“A/Prof Balaji Motamarri and the Medical Administration team were also pleased to hold productive discussions with RANZCP President Elect 2023-2025 Dr Astha Tomar, neuropsychiatrist and old age psychiatrist A/Prof Samantha Loi, as well as many other attendees.

“Combined, these will only enhance our ability to provide the highest quality service to both our staff and community.

“It is also important to recognise that without the hard work, diligence and patience demonstrated by those unable to attend the event, MSAMHS would not have been able to have been represented as well as it was.”

Well done to everyone involved for their extraordinary efforts as we continue to position Metro South AMHS as an employer of choice.
