Michelle McDonnell is Redlands Satellite Hospital's first staff member, and we're excited to share her story with you.

Michelle has provided healthcare to the Bayside community for more than 30 years, starting her career as an Enrolled Nurse at Redland Hospital in the 80s.

As her career progressed, so did her zest for healthcare, and after a small stint in community health and following two decades of nursing in the Emergency Department, Michelle found her new passion – primary healthcare.

This passion led her to apply for her new role as Nurse Unit Manager of the Minor Injury and Illness Clinic (MIIC) at Redlands Satellite Hospital.

Michelle said she was excited not only for her new role, but for the community to have a local, state-of-the-art facility opening.

“Redlands Satellite Hospital is absolutely beautiful and will provide locals with a contemporary level of care closer to home,” she said.

“I can’t wait to welcome the community to our facility and I will strive to maintain a high level of healthcare to the Redlands Coast and Southern Moreton Bay Island locals.”

Michelle said she hoped to work closely with the community to ensure the services continued to grow and develop to meet their changing needs.

Michelle and other Satellite Hospital staff will be welcoming visitors at the Community Open Day on Saturday 19 August 2023.
