Our newest Satellite Hospital is proud to announce the launch of its five day-a-week volunteer service, welcoming four new vollies to the ranks.
Amongst the enthusiastic group who 'just love people' are some familiar faces including retired registered nurse of 29 years Amina Gaffar (pictured right) and Logan's long-standing volunteers Fred and Steve.
Radhika Gupta who recently moved to Australia from the United States rounds up the team.
She said she started volunteering as a way to meet people in her neighbourhood.
The volunteers will be on-site at the Eight Mile Plains (EMP) facility to support the community and staff from 8am to noon, Monday to Friday.
Volunteer Co-ordinator Kylie Mott said it was wonderful to welcome new faces to her expanding volunteer team, and believed they would become an invaluable part of the service provided at EMP.
"The volunteers will be available to help with wayfinding and serving refreshments, as well as being able to support patients attending lengthy kidney dialysis and chemotherapy appointments," she said.
