On its very first day, Logan Hospital’s refurbished ward - Ward 3A - received glowing feedback.

The team’s first compliment described the staff as 'sincere, polite, understanding, kind, and efficient'.

Nurse Unit Manager Tatum Oriel Dalais and Clinical Nurse Consultant Julie Dwyer said this was a testament to the dedication of the Ward 3A team.

"The opening of this ward has been an incredible journey, allowing us to form a diverse team, each member bringing unique skills and experiences from various backgrounds," they said.

"Our team has eagerly embraced Ward 3A as their new home and is committed to delivering exceptional surgical services and care to our patients and their families."

Darren Newitt of Beenleigh was the first patient welcomed onto the ward, which features additional beds dedicated to surgical and gastroenterology care.

He and many others throughout the day complimented not only the staff but also the ward's beautiful new space.

Tatum and Julie shared that as the team settled in, they were looking forward to celebrating the holiday season together, with plans already underway for festive ward decorations and a Secret Santa gift exchange.
